E. Quinton
MICHAEL E. QUINTON,
Esq., is a highly experienced litigation attorney
who is dedicated to protecting and preserving your rights and
interests.
Mr. Quinton has a depth of understanding of the legal system gained
from
his 30 plus years of experience in dealing with it.
Mr. Quinton has
handled all phases of litigation, from filing through
appeal, in a very wide variety of civil litigation matters. He
has
tried approximately fifty cases to juries and an equal number to the
court.
He has also handled the appeal of approximately sixty cases to the U.S.
Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He has tried civil cases
involving aircraft accidents, medical malpractice, fires, land
condemnation,
business litigation and a wide variety of personal injury matters.
Mr. Quinton is a
nationally-recognized expert in aviation law and
has taught courses for other aviation lawyers and aircraft accident
investigators.
These courses include: a presentation to the Organization of Flying
Adjusters
on National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Reports and Their Use by
Adjusters; a presentation to the Air Law Symposium of the Southern
Methodist
University School of Law on the Status of Pending Air Carrier
Litigation;
and a presentation to the Aviation Sections of the Orange County and
the
San Diego County Bar Associations on the Federal Tort Claims Act.
Mr. Quinton is a
graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy, of Air Force
pilot training, of advanced flying training in the C-130 and
C-141
aircraft and of the Air Force course in Aircraft Mishap (Accident)
Investigation.
He has the depth of understanding of aircraft engineering and
aviation-related
issues that can only come from having studied aircraft engineering and
having been a military-trained professional pilot for over 20
years.
Mr. Quinton received
his law degree from the University of Denver
College of Law in 1970. Following graduation from law school, Mr.
Quinton worked in the City Attorney's Office in Lakewood, Colorado for
one year and then worked in the United States Attorney's Office in San
Diego (Southern District of California), for 23 years. Although
he
handled a very wide variety of types of cases while in the United
States
Attorney's Office, he specialized in aviation litigation and land
condemnation
(eminent domain) matters. He has been in private practice in San
Diego, CA, since 1994.
